The EU has ordered an additional 300m doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine

The European Commission has ordered an additional three-hundred million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, following their recent order.

European states are set to receive two-hundred million doses of the vaccine this year, which follows an announcement from Pfizer/BioNTech highlighting that they would be temporarily reducing shipments of their COVID-19 vaccine to the EU, in January.

The company stated: “Although this will temporarily impact shipments in late January to early February, it will provide a significant increase in doses available for patients in late February and March.”
