An AI robotic glove has been developed to help people recover muscle grip in their hands

22nd February 2021

An AI robotic glove, developed to help 2.5 million people living in the UK recover muscle grip in their hands, could soon help after securing support from Heriot-Watt University based Edinburgh Business School’s Incubator.

Before using an algorithm to convert the intention into force, the glove notices a user’s aim to grip, using Electromyography to regulate electrical activity in reply to a nerve’s stimulation of the muscle.

The technology is assumed to help with daily tasks, including driving, opening jars and pouring liquids.
