NHS England advises community pharmacy vaccination sites to offer appointments over just 2 or 3 days per week

26th February 2021

NHS England has advised COVID-19 vaccination sites, run by community pharmacies, to offer appointments over just two or three days per week, instead of the former seven days per week. This comes as Matt Hancock, health secretary, stated that the UK faces a decline in vaccine supplies. However, in an update sent to vaccination sites in late February, NHS England recognises that areas would like more vaccine supplies.

Matt Hancock stated: “We have got a quieter week this week and then we’re going to have some really bumper weeks in March. It’s about the supply schedules, we have seen ups and downs in the delivery schedule.”
