Phillips has launched a new at-home initiative for patients following its Dental Care Recycling Programme.

Phillips and Terracycle’s Dental Care Recycling Programme, which will run on from now until 30 April, encourages patients to take charge of their dental waste to help keep their community safe.

Patients can enter Phillips’ online shop and then complete the label request form. Terracycle will then send them a free shipping label.
Once their waste has been safely packaged, they can arrange for UPS to collect their package from home and take it for recycling.

As a reward, Phillips will offer patients ten per cent off Phillips Sonicare brush heads.

The items that can be recycled include electric flosser nozzles, interdental brushes, flossing sticks, electric toothbrush covers and heads and dental floss containers from all brands.

All waste collected as part of the programme will be shipped to the Terracycle material recovery facility, where it will be stored and ready for recycling into new products.
