The NYU Dentistry is the 3rd dental school to use surgical robotic devices for dental implant surgeries

The New York University College of Dentistry (NYU Dentistry) has become the third dental school in the United States to purchase, mount, and use two surgical robotic devices known as Yomi for dental implant surgeries.

The devices will enable pre-and postdoctoral students at the college to learn how modern robotic technology can enhance and complement clinical practice and patient care through its precision and accuracy during dental surgery.

The system provides real-time visual and physical intraoperative guidance and uses software to preoperatively plan dental implantation procedures to achieve the plan. The robot is designed for adult patients who are missing all or some of their teeth and are eligible for dental implants.
