A new authorization for a third booster dose will be sought by BioNTech and Pfizer for their COVID-19 vaccine from the US Food and Drug Administration.

Mikael Dolsten, Pfizer’s Chief Medical Officer, stated that preliminary data from the business’s vaccine booster study specifies that antibodies upsurge five to tenfold after the third dose of its jab, compared to after a second dose.

Pfizer plans to file an emergency use authorization request for the booster dose to the FDA in August.
