The market for dental implants is ever increasing in the UK, with various products from countless manufacturers across the globe. Including Korea, India and Brazil.

The quantity of firms providing variations on the original Branemark implant design has increased due to the surplus in the aeroplane and industrial work, leaving machines accessible to create titanium devices for health care.

Most of the time, surgeons can identify which brand has been used for the implant; however, follow up becomes problematic when there are unidentifiable implants. This means that mechanisms, specific details and screwdrivers becomes tough to acquire.

For this reason, patients must make an effort to understand and record which implant, size, and type is put in using an ‘implant passport’. So, if they need additional treatment in the future at a different location (possibly even a different country), they can easily pass on that vital information.
