Vivos Therapeutics announces the results of a peer-reviewed study conducted on tooth decay

19th October 2021

Results of a peer-reviewed study conducted on tooth decay in paediatric patients have been announced by Vivos Therapeutics. After undergoing treatment using an intraoral device to prevent children’s teeth from shifting position, Vivos Guide the study demonstrated a significant reduction of tooth decay in paediatric patients.

The ability of the Vivos Guide to convert mouth breathing to nose breathing in children was tested in this study. The danger of tooth decay is reduced when you breathe through your nose rather than through your mouth. The Vivos Guide was given to 40 children ranging in age from 4 to 12, and both groups of children received identical information on how to prevent tooth decay.

Dr Hart from the company, stated: “I am happy with the results of this study. Having worked with so many children over three decades, I have witnessed the correlation of tooth decay in relation to mouth breathing. I am pleased that my contribution in this study helps to show how the use of the Vivos Guide intraoral device may promote nasal breathing and reduce tooth decay.”
