Serosep Wins Medtech Company of the Year in Ireland

Serosep, located in Limerick, was named Irish Medtech Company of the Year at the Irish Medtech Association’s annual Medtech Rising conference, which was co-hosted by Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland.

Sinead Keogh, the director of the association, said that “Serosep is a self-funded, family run business, and manufactures Clinical Diagnostic products to over 35 different countries spread over five continents.”

Chief Executive Officer of Serosep, Dermot Scanlon, reported that “Serosep’s innovative diagnostic test solutions have disrupted the market and changed the way Gastroenteritis is tested in clinical laboratories.”

Deirdre Glenn, head of life sciences at Enterprise Ireland explained that “This year’s Emerging Medtech Company of the Year has been awarded to Luminate Medical, an NUI Galway spin-out that has developed a novel technology to prevent chemotherapy induced hair loss. VERTIGENIUS won the eHealth Innovation of the Year Award, [they] created a platform to enable enhanced clinical and patient engagement in the treatment of balance problems.”

Rachel Shelly, manager if he MedTech department at IDA Ireland, said: “The Women in Leadership Company Initiative Award recognises companies that proactively take steps to increase the number of women in Medtech and advancing to leadership positions. In this its first year I’m delighted to see the award going to Cook Medical for its solid commitment to gender balance in the workplace.”
