Medix Biochemica Buys 100% of myPOLS Biotec’s Shares
Medix Biochemica has purchased all myPOLS Biotec’s shares. With this change, the company aims to expand its range of molecular diagnostic resources for IVD (In Vitro Diagnostics), establish influence focusing on West Europe, and increase scientific knowledge.
Part of this business strategy involves the creation of a Molecular Diagnostics Business Unit which MyPOLS Biotec is set to be a key element of. The operations of this project will take place in Konstanz, Germany with all the companies’ originators having an active role.
Chief Executive Officer of Medix Biochemica, Steve Ferguson, expressed his thoughts on the acquisition: which “accelerates growth in molecular diagnostics reagents business, which is a key strategic expansion area for us. The broad portfolio of myPOLS Biotec, including unique and innovative molecular diagnostics reagents, complements Medix Biochemica’s existing molecular diagnostics offering.”
He continued: “With myPOLS technology, customers can shorten their assay development time and complexity and perform molecular testing directly from crude samples. We will offer more flexibility in assay development by partnering in custom development projects.”
Chief Executive Officer of myPOLS Biotec, Dr. Ramon Kranaster, also shared his thoughts, saying that they are “looking forward to contributing to the rapid growth of Medix Biochemica and we appreciate its clear focus on quality and R&D. The high scientific competence of the myPOLS team including best-in-class DNA polymerases, supports Medix Biochemica’s long term vision and focus on IVD customers’ needs.”
