Envision Pharma Group partners with Brooklyn-based Scite to incorporate Smart Citations into their modules

13th June 2022

Scientific communications organisation Envision Pharma Group have collaborated with Scite to include Smart Citations as part of their Library, Datavision, and Scientific Communication Platform modules. The use of Smart Citations allows for regular updates, citation data, and click-through access to the Scite website where further information about the cited article can be found.
Scite is a tool used by students and researchers in their work that facilitates a macro approach to reviewing existing literature on a topic of interest. Scite can help source supporting and contradictory publications, retractions, amendments, or received expressions of concern. Customised dashboards can also incorporate multiple research articles into one analytical space, giving an overview of a collection of publications. Their newest addition of a citation statement search finds expert opinions and analysis on research findings by looking at how an article has been cited and discussed. Data on journals, organisations and funding bodies can also be provided, allowing researchers to critically appraise the research they are using to inform their own research and give a comprehensive idea of a research sector and existing literature and discussion around a topic of interest.
Envision Pharma Group provide evidence-based communication services and technology solutions to pharmaceutical companies, and the addition of the Smart Citations function to their resources represents their latest innovation to existing services provided to their clients. By allowing access to Scite through their modules, Envision Pharma Group have opened doors for researchers to have a large-scale and critical understanding of existing research in their area of expertise, and direct their research efforts and funding accordingly. The Library module gives companies access to a centralised database for storage of scientific and medical materials such as research publications, slide decks, and other informative materials. The Library also monitors the currency and status of these materials, monitoring embargoes and and also directing access to such materials based on defined rules according to the business needs of the company. Reading lists, notification functions, citation tools, and access to downloading documents are also incorporated into the Library. They also provide the iEnvision Scientific Communications Platform (SCP) gives standardisation through existing templates, industry metrics for the companies’ SCP, and associated activity and assets, such as publications, slides, and videos, giving an overview of usage statistics across the organisation’s communication materials. Their Datavision module helps promote compliance with external body requirements for publication, such as Good Publication Practice and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). These can also be programmed to align with existing standard operative procedures unique to each organisation, and give validation protocols to evaluate materials to verify that they meet requirements.
Such comprehensive analytic capabilities and workflow management as those provided by Envision Pharma Group can only be elevated by the addition of Smart Citations, and will empower researchers in their field, informing them in their next steps, and equipping them for better participation in an increasingly connected, global research community.
