Makara Makes 3 Internal Promotion Moves

Katie Bright and Helen Laurence have been promoted to Joint Managing Director positions at Makara Health, following the elevation of Louise Sharp to Founder and Chief Executive Officer.

With Makara’s constant growth, the positions will help to monitor and develop the different segments of the business, covering medical education, branding & promotion, personal relations, patient education and learning & development.

Louise will have a whole new set of responsibilities to take on as CEO of the company. This includes being a major driver of business strategy, attracting new clients, and ramping up activity in the medical communications sector.

Following her shift from Deputy Managing Director to joint managing director, Katie will be facilitating and advancing Makara’s infrastructure. She will also manage learning & development, branding, and the internal creative and digital teams.

Although Helen is stepping out of her role as Executive Director for PR and medical education, she will still watch over those divisions, while taking on the new responsibility of developing a successful marketing strategy and working with the Executive Director of scientific strategy.

Both Katie and Helen are expected to keep up their strong collaboration with business leadership members to ensure Makara maintains its core values of ‘honesty’, ‘humour’, and ‘kindness’.
