Local Anaesthesia Sector Dominates Dental Market
With almost 53% of the 2022 market share for dental anaesthesia, the local division dominated the market, and is hands down the most frequently used anaesthetic option used in dental operations. Local anaesthetics function by blocking the nerves in the injured region from sending pain signals to the brain.
Due to escalating dental technology improvements and an upsurge in specialised dental service providers, Asia Pacific held over 38% of the worldwide dental market share this year. This market location is set to expand as the amount of people without natural teeth increase in emerging economies like China and India.
Furthermore, the increasing quantity of dental clinics and dentists globally has caused the dental clinics division to lead the market in the end-use sector.
The anaesthesia market is continuously expanding for two reasons. The first being the growing number of requests for dental examinations, and the second being the rising occurrence of dental issues. Dental caries (tooth decay) is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases across all age divisions, as revealed by the National Institute of Dental Research.
The data shows that a massive 92% of those between 20 and 64 experience dental caries, which is often a result of unhealthy food and lifestyle choices, particularly among teens. This increases dental decay, therefore contributing to the market’s expansion.
