McLorinan Becomes 2023 Branch President for Northern Ireland BDA

At the end of January, Philip McLorinan was officially appointed as 2023 Branch President for the BDA Northern Ireland.

The formality was carried out as part of the BDA Belfast’s centennial celebrations, host to family, coworkers, and supporters from all areas of dentistry.

Former Northern Ireland Dental Practice Committee Chair Richard Graham gave an interesting overview of his ongoing attempt to write an antiquity of the branch.

McLorinan was inaugurated as 2023’s President by Peter Crooks, who also handed him the Presidential office chain.

McLorinan has held a dentist position for a quarter of a century, serving as the primary dentist and proprietor of Dunmurry Dental Practice. He has been heavily involved as part of the BDA since he was in education and works as an undergraduate clinical teacher at Queen’s University Belfast on the side.

In recognition of his efforts as Young Dentist Convenor and Social Secretary on behalf of the organisation, the BDA awarded him a Certificate of Merit in 2021.
