American Journal of Endocannabinoid Medicine Bought by Haymarket Media
The scholarly publication American Journal of Endocannabinoid Medicine (AJEM), which specializes in cannabinoid medicine, has been bought by Haymarket Media.
In order to further its aim of educating and increasing knowledge in the medical community about cannabinoid-based medicine, Haymarket is increasing its financial input into AJEM.
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is not taught to medical students. Nonetheless, they are more frequently being expected to provide medical attention to patients with cannabinoid-based therapy, generally in combination with other medications.
The AJEM works to combat this problem by making accurate, reliable, peer-reviewed information available to those within the medical field.
Head of Branding for AJEM, Ken Watkins, said that “Haymarket’s healthcare presence allows us to broaden our reach and offer content to physicians in a way that is familiar to them, and in a language that they speak.”
Haymarket’s CEO, Lee Maniscalco also explained that “adding a peer-reviewed medical cannabis journal to our portfolio reinforces our commitment to educating physicians and positions Haymarket for leadership in this emerging therapeutic area.”
