Quintus Technologies Creates Material Manufacturing Solution ‘Purus Toolbox’
Quintus Technologies has developed a new solution to manage oxidation in material manufacturing.
Director of the sales and marketing unit at Quintus Technologies, Peter Henning, explained that “oxidised component surfaces are prone to crack initiation and therefore detrimental to component strength and reliability in operation.”
The source of the oxygen “must be controlled to ensure component performance.” Which is currently done by “manually wrapping of all individual components in metal foil” prior, “or removing all oxidised surfaces after the process.”
A large number of the problems involved with the manufacturing process can be minimised or usurped by using the new Quintus Purus toolbox. It comprises of improved Hot Isostatic Pressing apparatus and technology potential and includes specialised oxygen getter cassettes. This design is more advanced, streamlining both the economic and environmental costs associated with developing these materials.
The solution can be put into a Compact HIP system that is already in operation, or as an accessory to a new one.
Quintus Care, a programme created to lower operational hazards and ensure consistent and smooth machine functionality, is an option available to Purus customers. Part of this offering involved maintaining replacement components and providing technical and operational assistance.
The company’s CEO, Jan Söderström, said that “Purus makes it possible to” minimise “energy consumption, cost of manufacturing, and the need for hazardous chemicals.”
