DCP Membership Continuation Deadline Approaching
Restoration of membership with the General Dental Council is required for all Registered Dental Care Practitioners
Payment of a £114 Annual Retention Fee certifications of insurance coverage and Continuing Professional Development are needed in order to reactivate the GDC registration.
DCPs who have failed to pay the fee will be removed from the system and forced to endure a more difficult and drawn-out recovery procedure. Until the membership has been restored, they will be unable to work.
The difficult recovery procedure can have major repercussions if participants do not always get GDC warnings or automatic debit failure letters. It is advised that all DCPs check that the payment has been sent out, that any missed payments have been identified in a timely manner, and that the requirement to make the payment by the due date has not been overlooked.
Proof of payment needs to be available in the ‘manage transactions’ area of participants’ eGDC profiles. According to the GDC, receipts will be accessible there two business days following the finalisation of transaction.
