Daye’s Nude Tampon Gets Medical Device FDA Authorisation
Daye’s Nude Tampon has successfully acquired FDA clearance as a medical device, primarily driven by Iva Lazarova and Kalina Mihaylova.
This is the first tampon currently available that uses Cobalt 60 radiation, also known as gamma irradiation, to eliminate microorganisms on the product. This means that Daye’s Nude Tampon has a substantially less chance of causing Toxic Shock Syndrome and infections in that area.
Daye is also taking the lead on environmental responsibility by reducing the quantity of single use plastic. Their product packaging can be flushed down the toilet, hence culling the amount of waste plastic produced and thrown away, enabling a more environmentally conscious period for users.
They are marketed as ‘body safe’ with an organic covering removing the risk of detaching cotton fibres causing problems such as infection.
This is not only a huge win for Daye as a company, but also the fruit of a long-term partnership with A21, a non-profit for victims of human trafficking.
