KCI Medical’s chief executive officer (CEO), Dennert O Ware, has been named Medical Device Industry CEO of the Year.
Frost & Sullivan selected the CEO of KCI, the global medical technology company, as the annual award winner due to the role it feels Mr Ware has played in the success of KCI.
“KCI’s success stems from bold steps taken by Ware,” said Frost & Sullivan research analyst, Sheila Ewing.
“The CEO brought dramatic cultural changes focused on achieving unprecedented goals. Through direction from Ware, KCI is now a trendsetter in advanced wound care and therapeutic surfaces.”
Mr Ware himself refused to take all the credit, offering that the success is down to the impact of the “many dedicated individuals” that work for the company.
The selection process for the award used by Frost & Sullivan was rigorous and comprehensive. Market developments and conditions are tracked alongside a company’s progression and interviews and research are used to further investigate the role of the CEO.
