Pfizer is still modifying their personnel in Ireland as part of a $3.5 billion money-saving initiative.

Following the recent cut of 100 employees at a production site in Newbridge, Pfizer continues to make personnel changes. Steps are in place for those stationed in Citywest Dublin to be transferred to Ringsend.

Pfizer’s Spokesman commented that “there will be redundancies” as a consequent of the relocation but the Pharma company will make efforts to reduce this by “utilizing open roles and moving talent to other opportunities.”

After the announcement of the job cuts, Pfizer stated that the “wider realignment program” should see the production facilities in Ireland develop significantly over the next year. Over 200 new job opportunities are being made available at the company’s facilities in Grange Castle and Cork.

Pfizer’s Irish locations are not the first to be affected by employee cuts. Across the United Kingdom, a number of workers have been impacted by Pfizer’s initiative.
