Zoll reveals new defibrillator series

14th November 2006

Zoll, the manufacturer of medical resuscitation devices, has revealed a new range of defibrillators, entitled the R Series.

The company states that the R Series will provide a “new standard for simplicity and operational readiness”, aided by the use of Code-Ready technology.

Furthermore, the defibrillator offers systems to speed up the resuscitation process, as well as “smart tools” to aid healthcare professionals.

Richard A Packer, Zoll’s president and chief executive officer, commented: “Hospital clinicians know that the worst time to find out a defibrillator isn’t working is during a cardiac arrest event.”

“We believe that the launch of the R Series positions us well for significant growth, similar to our launch of the M Series during the late 1990s,” he added.

Mr Packer concluded by saying that he expected the R Series to expand Zoll’s market share and become the “preferred defibrillator” for physicians.

Earlier this year, Zoll purchased Lifecor, a company that manufactures a wearable external defibrillator series.
