Hill-Rom product line offers heavier weight capacity
Healthcare solutions provider Hill-Rom has announced the launch of a new range of transport and speciality stretchers to meet the needs of patients and caregivers.
The new line of products include a reinforced frame and other additional components to support weights of up to 700 pounds (318.2 kg), in order to abolish concerns regarding the ability of the product range to transport heavier patients.
Other options available in this new portfolio include a built-in scale to enable simpler weighing of patients, an air mattress of patient comfort, Auto Contour and BackSaver Fowler features to keep patients in position and an active handbrake to negotiate ramps and corners.
William Weaver, strategic marketing manager at Hill-Rom, said: “This is an industry first. Our new universal 700-pound weight capacity means caregivers don’t have to worry about whether or not a Hill-Rom stretcher meets the demand of heavier patients.”
He added that the products will provide improved safety and manoeuvrability, providing assistance to a caregiving workforce that is diminishing in numbers and increasing in age.
Hill-Rom was founded by William A Hillenbrand in October 1929 in the US and today aims to assist healthcare professionals provide effective and efficient care to patients in hospital and at home.
