Tyco announces launch of health monitoring services
Tyco has announced that its subsidiary ADT Security Services has launched its ADT WellHealth range of health monitoring services aimed at enhancing patient care and managing the cost of healthcare.
ADT reports that this range of solutions will help patients remain independent and at home longer, reducing preventable hospital care and lowering medical costs for individuals and their employers in addition to health insurance firms.
The ADT WellHealth product suite is split into three distinct areas – MediHealth, VitalHealth and ManageHealth – concerned with monitoring compliance, tracking vital signs and recording health behaviours respectively.
Through the use of digital devices connecting patients to monitoring centres, the WellHealth range aims to assist in the management of health regiments and patient compliance in taking medication.
Joseph C Kvedar, director of Partners Telemedicine, said: “Patients can benefit from more timely monitoring of their health status and intervention should a health problem arise.
He added that ADT WellHealth services would use technology to deliver patient care and facilitate a more efficient use of healthcare resources.
Last month, Tyco Healthcare announced that it will be rebranded as Covidien when it separates from Tyco International in the spring of 2007.
