Smiths Medical exhibits at ISICEM

10th April 2007

Smiths Medical has reported on the company’s recent exhibition at the 27th International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (ISICEM) meeting in Brussels. The firm’s stand at the event covered three new areas of therapy for the company.

These therapy areas included emergency medicine, pressure monitoring and vascular access, and tracheostomy, with a number of products on display, including the New Portex single use Bougie, logical transducers, Ultraperc, Portex and Biovana tracheostomy tubes, among others.

Smiths Medical notes that the company’s exhibit was focused on a hands-on approach allowing visitors to perform a number of medical procedures on models, including difficult intubations, resuscitation and emergency cricothyroidotomies.

Matthew Sassone, international marketing manager of anaesthesia and critical care at the firm, said: “The symposium was a huge success for Smiths Medical, promoting strong brand awareness among this important target customer group and achieving a high level of interest in our products.”

He gave his thanks to the team involved for the success of the exhibition.

Earlier this month, Smiths Medical announced the opening of its high altitude laboratory situated at Namche Bazaar in Nepal. The 3,400 metre high laboratory is one of the four main sites for the human biology Caudwell Xtreme Everest study.
