Takeda initiates global leadership programme
Takeda Pharmaceutical has announced the start of a global leadership training programme due to take place across the group. The programme is known as the Takeda Leadership Institute (TLI) and is being supported by the INSEAD graduate business school.
With the aim of developing leaders for the entirety of the Takeda group, TLI is one of the firm’s human resources management schemes. It began earlier this week at the Asia campus of INSEAD in Singapore.
Employees involved in the training scheme will develop their vision of leadership and understanding of differing business environments worldwide to foster improved cross-cultural communication.
The programme also aims to enable the establishment of a global human leadership network at the firm.
Yasuchika Hasegawa, president of Takeda, said: “We are pleased to start TLI with the participants from our subsidiaries in the US, Europe and Asia as well as those from headquarters in Japan and this is really symbolic as TLI is our initiative on a global scale.”
He added that TLI will assist in achieving the management tasks laid out in the company’s medium-term management plan for 2006-2010, with the establishment of the human resources pipeline for its worldwide business.
In January 2007, Takeda announced that its board had resolved to merge its Daiwa Estate, Shinwa Estate and Takeda Pharmaceutical Real Estate subsidiaries.
