Cambridge restructures UK operations
Cambridge Laboratories has announced that it is to restructure its commercial operations in the UK, with the company establishing two distinct business units in oncology and the central nervous system.
Part of the firm’s plan to focus on specialist secondary care, the restructure programme will enable the company to bring its research and development pipelines in the central nervous system and oncology fields into line with its commercial infrastructure.
The company has appointed specialist sales firm Ashfield Healthcare to work with the oncology segment to drive growth in Gelcair and maximise the potential of its market-leading ImmuCyst product.
Mark Evans, chief executive officer of Cambridge Laboratories, said: “It is crucial that we are in tune with our customer base and with the continually evolving NHS it has become increasingly important to ensure our sales efforts reflect their needs.”
He added that the establishment of two distinct business units and the decision to work with Ashfield Healthcare will better position the firm for future success in these fields.
In June 2006, Cambridge Laboratories appointed Dr John Padfield as chairman of its board of directors effective immediately. Dr Padfield had been a non-executive director of the firm since April 2005.
