Anachem products to tackle RSI

Anachem is to launch a new addition to its Gilson family of pipettes, according to reports.

The Pipetman Neo will provide the same characteristics of its other pipettes in the range, but also aims to reduce pipette forces.

As a result it is hoped that the Pipeman Neo will lower the rate of repetitive strain injury (RSI) incidents, which have been described as a "growing concern".

Pipetting forces are 60 per cent lower and purge forces will be about 30 per cent lower, which is of benefit for prolonged use.

Laboratory Talk states: "Six single channel models cover a range of volumes from 0.2ul to 1000ul and are identified by colour-coded push buttons that correspond to the relevant Diamond tips.

"With a wide useful volume range of ten to 100 per cent of the nominal value, Pipetman Neo specifications, along with all Gilson pipettes are more stringent than those required for ISO8655 compliance."

The manufacturer adds that it will be making special introductory offers on the pipettes.

Anachem produces chromatography materials in addition to pipettes and has been in the business for about 35 years.
