KD Scientific has announced its new multiwell high throughput dispenser – the UltraSpense 2000.
Designed to eliminate both edge effects and fluid drops sticking to the dispensing tips, the UltraSpense 2000 will deliver more viable cells to 384-well microplates, according to the manufacturer.
This means that the accuracy of seeding is "much improved", thereby leading to better throughput and productivity.
According to Laboratory Talk, recovering the perimeter row of a 384-well plate, a 25 per cent gain in usable assays is achieved with Hek293, CHO and Cos-7 cells.
"High accuracy and precision dispensing into deep well or low-profile microplates, coupled with low dead volume and easy programming makes UltraSpense 2000 the ideal solution for virtually all dispensing applications," stated KD Scientific.
Last month, the firm introduced a range of stainless steel syringes designed to be leak-free for pressures up to 700 psi, thereby removing the problem of broken glass syringes.
