Nalco introduces new high-brightness paper

30th May 2007

Nalco has announced the introduction of its Extra White Brightness Technology to the pulp and paper industry.

The integrated water treatment and process improvement services provider states that the technology will allow papermakers to cost-effectively increase pulp brightness and whiteness attributes.

Papermaker Copamex is one company that used Nalco’s solutions, with chief operations officer Margarito Cepeda suggesting that the companies’ combined efforts have succeeded in commercially launching high-brightness paper.

John Yimoyines, paper services division president at Nalco, commented: "Extra White Brightness Technology delivers cost-effective brightness and whiteness development to the papermaker.

"It does so in a very environmentally-friendly and safe manner that improves overall operational efficiency while significantly reducing the overall cost of brightness/whiteness development."

Manufacturers state that the primary benefit of Extra White is that it allows papermakers to recognise one to two-point increases in ISO brightness, while lowering optical brightener agent consumption by about half.

Nalco has been awarded for various technologies including its Anionic Ultimer and its advanced condensate treatment.ADNFCR-1050-ID-18163615-ADNFCR
