BioMerieux organises forum on healthcare-associated infections
BioMerieux is to organise the first world forum on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
The forum is to bring together 50 international experts at the Merieux Foundation Conference Centre from June 4th to 5th.
Among the subjects to be discussed include the current level of healthcare-associated infections, ways to reduce morbidity, mortality and excess healthcare costs, which are thought to affect about seven million people per year.
Alan Meriuex, president of bioMerieux, commented: "This first World HAI Forum is intended to be a unique opportunity to meet and exchange on the subject and will lead to the emergence of new ideas for the implementation of actions to fight this major healthcare concern."
Thierry Bernard, vice president of commercial operations at bioMerieux, added that partnering microbiologists will lead to the development of innovative solutions for the fight against such infections.
