Randox Laboratories claims third award

20th June 2007

Randox Laboratories has claimed its third award of the year, it has emerged.

The firm was granted the Frost & Sullivan European technology innovation of the year award for its ‘laboratory on a chip’, Evidence.

Evidence is said by the manufacturer to be the first fully-automated biochip array technology system.

By including 25 distinct testing sites across the surface of a single chip, Randox Laboratories claims that multiple tests can be performed on a single sample, reducing the likelihood of biological diversity between tests.

The awarding body stated: "Randox’s multi-analyte biochip array system will raise the bar for testing and will provide laboratories with the best technology available."

"Evidence provides clinical laboratories worldwide with a rapid and easily affordable alternative to their existing instrumentation," Frost & Sullivan added.

Randox Laboratories states that Evidence is capable of performing tests at a rate in excess of 2,700 per hour across a chip surface of nine square millimetres.ADNFCR-1050-ID-18185514-ADNFCR
