BD Biosciences releases FACSDiva 6.0

BD Biosciences has released an updated version of its FACSDiva flow cytometry software.

The new version 6.0 provides for greater data consistency during cell research, according to the company.

Multi-colour analysis is specifically catered for, with BD claiming that system design may be simplified and data quality increased through the use of the software.

Bill Rhodes, president of cell analysis at BD Biosciences, said: "Flow cytometry systems are the foundation for key medical research that requires the measurement and charting of cell characteristics.

"FACSDiva software is the most complete flow cytometer standardisation system ever devised."

He added that an extra function allows for the automatic setup of BD cytometer systems including the FACSCanto and FACSAria ranges.

BD Biosciences states that the FACSAria system is the first high-speed benchtop sorter with fixed-alignment cuvette flow cell.

The system features three lasers at wavelengths of 407, 488 and 633 nanometres.
