Cardinal Health signs cosmetic surgery pack agreement
Cardinal Health has announced the signing of a three-year agreement with group purchasing organisation Cosmetrix for the distribution of customised procedure packs and surgical apparel to cosmetic surgeons.
Under the terms of the agreement, Cardinal Health will supply members of Cosmetrex with its Presource cosmetic surgery packs and its Presource custom and standard procedure packs.
Cardinal Health will also produce and supply its infection control products sold under the Convertors brand name, with this product line including gowns, facial protection, caps, shoe covers and drapes.
Presource pre-packaged kits for surgeons include all principal necessary components for a range of the most cosmetic surgery procedures, including abdominoplasty, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation and liposuction.
Mike Kaufmann, president of healthcare medical supply chain services at Cardinal Health, said: “We’re excited to help Cosmetrex’s cosmetic surgery customers improve patient safety and productivity with our industry-leading line of Presource custom procedure packs and Convertors apparel.”
He added that cosmetic surgery is one of the fastest-growing parts of the surgical industry, with a growth rate of over ten per cent every year.
Cardinal Health launched its Presource kits for cosmetic surgery procedures last month, with the aim of universalising practices, enhancing safety and modernising the supply chain of disposable equipment.
