Mettler Toledo launches Quick-Brix portable food meters

Mettler Toledo has announced the launch of the Quick-Brix 60 and 90 food monitors to measure sugar content.

According to the company, the instruments are "ideal" for determining the quality of ingredients such as jam or honey, sugar levels in beverages or determining the optimum harvest time of fruit and vegetables.

Due to the digital display on Quick-Brix, the instrument produces a standardised result regardless of the operator as traditional optical meters typically have a significant bias, reports Mettler Toledo.

Quick-Brix are simple to operate as a drop from a sample is placed on the device, the read key is pressed and the results can be seen on the display panel and the firm states that the tool is accurate and reliable as it can be cleaned by rinsing or wiping and can be calibrated with a drop of deionised water.

Earlier this month, Mettler Toledo announced the launch of its InPro6950 low-level oxygen sensor for the brewing industry.
