Leica Microsystems launches new inverted microscope

Leica Microsystems has announced the launch of the new Leica DMI3000 B inverted microscope, designed specifically for research applications involving live cells.

The company asserts that the instrument offers phase contrast methods that do not require the use of objectives, as well as offering integrated modulation and the production of images for all fluorescence techniques.

According to the firm, the DMI 3000 B offers a "great variety" of illumination options for transmitted light applications and that a supplemental S40 condenser for micromanipulation is also suitable for integrated modulation contrast and integrated phase contrast.

With the launch of the new condenser, Leica now offers five such instruments with a range of working distances, ranging from one to 70mm.

Earlier this month, the company announced the presentation of a range of new microscope systems intended for bioscience use including the new Leica M205 C stereomicroscope, which incorporates the firm’s FusionOptic technology.
