GE Healthcare announces Dynamic Imaging acquisition
GE Healthcare has announced that it has purchased web-based image and information management firm Dynamic Imaging. Financial details of the agreement have not been publicly disclosed.
Included in this acquisition is the company’s IntegradWeb product suite, which GE Healthcare hopes will enable the firm to extend the availability of its information technology products and services across a range of healthcare segments.
These areas include community hospitals, outpatient imaging centres, radiology group practices, hospital integrated delivery networks and doctors’ offices.
GE Healthcare notes that its dynamic imaging solutions business unit will aim to aid healthcare bodies enhance their image-based procedural medicine business by boosting access for patients and physicians alike and providing immediate reporting if imaging results and streamlined workflow.
Don Woodlock, vice-president and global general manager of imaging solutions at GE Healthcare, said: “The people, products and culture of Dynamic Imaging are truly world class.
“Dynamic Imaging has a strong track record of innovation and a family of top- rated products that are highly complementary to our existing offering.”
He also praised the company’s research and development team for their speed in bringing new products to market while continuing their development of innovative solutions in the sector.
In June 2007, GE Healthcare announced the signing of a five-year sales and development alliance for computer-aided detection between its radiology and vascular ultrasound segment and Medipattern.
