Dyax welcomes new executive vice president

1st November 2007

Dyax has welcomed a new executive vice president and chief development officer with the appointment of William Pullman.

Dr Pullman will now oversee clinical, regulatory and programme management departments at Dyax.

Henry Blair, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Dyax, expressed his pleasure in seeing Dr Pullman join the executive management team.

“Dr Pullman brings to the company a depth of experience and expertise in clinical trials and product development. He will be a tremendous asset to us.”

With over 25 years of medical experience, Dr Pullman most recently served as senior vice president and chief medical officer at Cubist Pharmaceuticals.

However, he initially kicked off his career in research and has held numerous clinical positions at Sanofi-Aventis, Eli Lilly and Pfizer.

Mr Blair confirmed that Dr Pullman would play a key role in the development of DX-88, a recombinant small protein which is expected to gain approval for hereditary angioedema by the end of 2008.

Dyax was formed in 1995 by biotechnology entrepreneur Henry Blair following the merger of Biotage and Protein Engineering Corporation.

The company is now particularly focused on medical advances in the areas of oncology and inflammation.
