Millipore mixing system provides ‘validated disposable solution’

Millipore Corporation has confirmed the availability of the Mobius MIX 100 disposable mixing systems.

Featuring a configurable 100-litre container, the device is the second in the Mobius family of disposable mixing systems.

With its integral impeller enabling risk-free cell culture, media and buffer preparation, the MIX 100 also utilises magnetic motor technology to eliminate warm-up time.

"As part of an integrated Mobius solution, MIX 100 mixers can be easily and economically configured with a wide array of containers, filters, connectors and tubing for a completely validated disposable solution," commented a spokesperson for Millipore.

"The MIX 100 system offers all the advantages of Millipore’s proven scalable, ready-to-use systems and processing technologies, including decreased risk of contamination, disposable technology for increased production capacity in multi-product facilities and reduced downtime for cleaning validation and process engineering," the representative added.

Millipore, a life science leader providing cutting-edge technologies, tools, and services for bioscience research and biopharmaceutical manufacturing, will launch additional mixers in various sizes over the coming months.

The firm employs more than 6,100 people in 47 countries worldwide.
