Schering-Plough receives honours at Scrip Awards

6th December 2007

Schering-Plough was honoured at the annual Scrip Awards ceremony this week, receiving three accolades: Large Pharma Company of the Year, Management Team of the Year and Executive of the Year for Fred Hassan, Schering-Plough chairman and chief executive officer.

Hosted by Scrip World Pharmaceutical News, the awards are designed to recognise excellence and achievement within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology divisions.

Mr Hassan declared that the company was “honoured and inspired” after winning the clutch of awards.

“They are a testament to the courage and tenacity of our people around the world who have executed the remarkable transformation of Schering-Plough on our special long-term journey,” he said.

Mr Hassan went on to confirm that Schering-Plough’s recent acquisition of Organon BioSciences would provide an opportunity to realise the “exciting new promise of our company”.

Scrip World Pharmaceutical News, a news provider for the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, held its third annual awards ceremony this week in London.

Last month, Schering-Plough announced that it had completed the acquisition of Organon BioSciences from Akzo Nobel for 11 billion euros (7.8 million pounds).

The acquisition was agreed in March this year with Schering-Plough taking over all divisions of the company.
