Randox Laboratories helps charity with battle against bowel cancer

Randox Laboratories has teamed up with Action Cancer to launch a campaign against bowel cancer in Northern Ireland.

The Don’t Sit OnYour Symptoms awareness campaign will see posters, featuring actor James Nesbitt, displayed in the washrooms of bars, pubs and clubs throughout the country.

Posters will bear the message: "Go and see your GP at the earliest stage if you have symptoms".

Randox Laboratories has stated it is "delighted" to be collaborating with Action Cancer.

Dr Peter Fitzgerald, a spokesperson of the company, said "We hope this campaign will empower patients to talk to their GP and take care of their health."

The international diagnostics company recently developed a new non-invasive test that can detect cancerous DNA in stool samples.

The company hopes that the product will help identify symptoms earlier and save a number of lives.
