Applied Biosystems introduces SOLiD System service provider program

Applied Biosystems has established a next-generation genomic analysis service provider program for scientists using the SOLiD System to answer biological questions.

The company intends the SOLiD System service provider program to be used within the scientific community to provide "broad access to a comprehensive solution for genomic research".

It stated that incorporating the new system would enable scientists to use a single system to make meaningful associations between variations in the kinds and amounts of DNA or RNA and disease.

Applied Biosystems also expects the system will "facilitate and simplify the identification, collection, and analysis of genetic information".

It can be utilised for a range of services including whole genome sequencing, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), microbial and eukaryotic resequencing, digital karyotyping, medical sequencing, genotyping, gene expression, and small RNA discovery.
