Registrars ‘see benefit’ from Acuson X300 training

Emergency medicine registrars at the Countess of Chester Hospital have undergone a number of training sessions using the Acuson X300 ultrasound system and recognised benefits from such experience, it has been revealed.

Siemens announced that the X300, which incorporates an ergonomic design and “innovative features”, is now being used for a full range of examinations within the emergency medicine department.

Around 15 registrars receive regular training with the equipment from Dr John Sloan, who cited the system’s “highly beneficial capabilities” and versatility.

He added that features such as excellent image resolution and clever control layout also added to the equipment’s usability.

In addition, the X300 is said to enable penetration of up to 30 centimetres, making otherwise complex examinations potentially easier.

Siemens provides managed equipment services contracts and has done so for the past decade.
