Thermo Fisher Scientific partners with world-renowned research centre

Thermo Fisher Scientific is to enter into a collaborative partnership with the newly opened Vascular Proteomics Group at the James Black Centre, Kings College London.

According to the serving science company, the facility is utilising some of its "most powerful" equipment including the LTQ Orbitrap, a protein identification and biomarker discovery platform and a high performance mass spectrometer.

The centre will also be working with Thermo Fisher’s ETD-equipped LTQ XL system for advanced proteomic research in cardiovascular repair, which offers "the most advanced proteomics capabilities available to today’s researchers".

Dr. Mayr, who heads the facility, said: "We are delighted that our new proteomics facility at the James Black Centre will feature cutting- edge technology dedicated to cardiovascular research. Our primary focus will be on the ability of stem cells to affect cardiovascular repair."

The James Black Centre is a world-renowned research facility, which conducts studies into a range of core competencies including genomics, proteomics and MRI.

Thermo Fisher Scientific provides a range of products and services for use within a number if markets.

These include air quality, anatomical pathology and clinical chemistry.
