Thermo Fisher Scientific’s M-PULSe system exceeds industry standard for accuracy

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Thermo Scientific M-PULSe Multi-Path Ultrasonic liquid flow measurement system exceeds previous measurement standards for liquid petroleum products with an accuracy of better than ±0.10 per cent.

According to the company, this level of accuracy is "unmatched" and ensures less lost and unaccounted for product – saving customers money.

Bill Summers, vice president and general manager with Thermo Fisher Scientific, added that the M-PULSe offers customers clear advantages and higher profitability in the face of rising petroleum prices.

"The transition from turbine flowmeters to ultrasonic flow measurement systems such as M-PULSe will enable liquid pipeline operators to easily account for more product, and we anticipate that the many advantages of the M-PULSe will continue to make it an attractive option for our valued customers," he added.

Other advantages of the M-PULSe system include its compact design, which allows customers to use a shorter pipe length for application, and the fact that its functionality is not reliant upon recalibration between products of varying viscosities – maximising efficiency.
