Pfizer receives warning over Viagra ad

Pfizer, the maker of Viagra, have received a letter of warning from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over an online ad for the drug.

According to a report from the Associated Press, the video ad was posted on the internet on Monday and featured country musicians singing a song entitled Viva Viagra, which details the benefits of the drug.

However, the FDA complained that the ad – which was shown on the website for news provider CNN – failed to display information about the risks associated with taking the drug.

Pifzer claimed in a statement that a banner accompanying the video was meant to display the risk information, but it was not displayed due to technical problems with the site.

The pharmaceutical firm has since pulled the online ad.

In the UK, Pifzer employs over 4,000 staff. Its products are used by an estimated 2.7 million people in the UK every day, according to the firm.
