Pfizer Animal Health to acquire Schering-Plough products
Pfizer has announced it is to acquire a number of product franchises from pharmaceutical giant Schering Plough.
The products cover all major animal health species, such as cattle, swine, equine and companion animals, the organisation stated.
Pfizer stated that the products it is to acquire are for sale in Europe and include a number of vaccines as well as anti-inflammatories, parasiticides and companion speciality products.
No financial details were disclosed by either organisation.
Pfizer Animal Health Europe president Albert Bourla commented: “We look forward to offering veterinarians additional preventative therapies and treatments along with our technical expertise and services to ensure that animals receive the best care possible.”
He stated that the acquisition will enable the European arm of Pfizer Animal Health to build upon its existing range of comprehensive health solutions.
Schering-Plough announced that in addition to Pfizer, it is selling some product franchises to the French animal health firm Virbac.
