Anachem launches new Screen Tape system

Anachem has launched a new product for the rapid analysis of Mycoplasma PCR reactions.

Its new Screen Tape system that was developed by Lab901 uses a microscale polymer tape containing all the reagents needed in DNA electrophoresis.

The company maintains the product will offer improved use and safety to molecular biologists because no handling gels or buffers will be required with the product.

A company statement said: "The ScreenTape system allows significant time saving for Mycoplasma PCR analysis, by providing a fully automated, walk-away solution.

"No reagent preparation is needed and the use of Ethidium Bromide is eliminated."

It believes the system enables accuracy, reproducibility and traceability by loading the sample, running the gel and presenting the fully analysed results in less than ten minutes.
