Novartis notes contributions to ASCO
Novartis has noted that the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) will include an “unprecedented” amount of research from the company.
More than 170 abstracts at the conference will use cancer therapies from the firm as their subjects.
A number of oral presentations and a plenary session will also take place.
David Epstein, chief executive officer and president of Novartis Oncology, comments: “Our scientific presence at ASCO shows that Novartis is a leader in delivering potential new cancer treatments and in demonstrating productive collaboration with key investigators across the intricate spectrum of cancer research.”
He adds that this year has been a particularly exciting time for Novartis with regard to advancing research and touching the lives of cancer patients.
In related news, the firm announced in recent days that its Tekturna hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) product is twice as effective at reducing blood pressure than diuretic HCT alone.
