Park House unveils wound-healing electro-therapy device

The wound management division of Park House Healthcare has developed and launched a new medical device described as “the next generation in wound healing”.

Created following a study measuring electrical stimulation on acute wounds weakened or absent when the body sustains a chronic wound, the LifeWave BST device is said to emit a waveform signal mimicking pulses that naturally occur to encourage healing.

Using a pair of electrodes attached to either side of the wound on the patient’s skin, signals are transmitted to stimulate the natural healing process.

According to Park House, the LifeWave BST device is “easy to use” and non-invasive, requiring minimal training for use on chronic ulcers.

In addition, it is reportedly cost-effective and requires 30 minutes of use each day – allowing patient mobility and encouraging compliance.

“Numerous clinical references are available for reinforcing the significance of this effective innovative BST device developed by LifeWave,” said Christine van Rooyen, head of clinical services at Park House Healthcare.

Park House was established in 1984 and specialises in manufacturing pressure-reducing/relieving equipment.
