Millipore launch new beads

Millipore has announced the launch of its PureProteome nickel magnetic beads.

The life sciences firm claims the "powerful" separation matrix provides a fast and easy purification of polyhistidine-tagged recombinant proteins, which is a critical step in protein research.

It states the beads even connect recombinant protein in the presence of metal ion chelator EDTA and offers a "higher purity" compared to competitors when yielding comparable amounts of protein.

A company statement said: "Millipore has evolved from a high performance filtration products and services company into a leading provider of tools and services and a key partner of choice for life science customers."

Meanwhile, the organisation announced last month it was to embark on a global sustainability initiative aimed at reducing its environmental impacts and carbon footprint by one-fifth over the next five years.

With roots tracing back to 1954, Millipore focuses on providing technologies, tools and services for bioscience research and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
